Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 12.4 oz. can refrigerated cinnamon rolls
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
For the dipping icing
- 3/4 cup whipped cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 325 degrees. Melt 4 tablespoons butter in a medium-sized microwave safe bowl; set aside.
- Separate the dough into 8 rolls. Cut each roll into 4 pieces and roll each piece into a ball. In a medium bowl, toss the dough pieces in the melted butter.
- Add half of the dough balls to the air fryer in a single layer. Cook for three minutes. Turn over with tongs and cook for 2-3 minutes more. Repeat with remaining dough.
- While dough is cooking, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a large, zip-top bag. Add all of the dough pieces to the melted butter and toss to coat. Transfer to the zip-top bag and shake until well coated with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
- To make the frosting, beat 3/4 cup whipped cream cheese, 1 tablespoon butter softened, and 1 cup powdered sugar with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup until icing reaching desired consistency for dipping.
- Serve cinnamon roll bites with cream cheese frosting on the side.

Recipe Tips
- Use kitchen sheers: Snipping the cinnamon rolls into quarters with scissors is much quicker and easier than using a knife.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer: Be sure and leave the dough pieces room to crisp up evenly. Crowding can lead to undercooked centers.
- Toss while warm: Coating the bites in butter and cinnamon sugar while they’re still warm helps everything stick better.
- Be sure the cream cheese and butter are softened to room temperature before mixing for a smooth, creamy icing.
Storage and Reheating
Storage
- Cool completely and keep in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Keep the icing separate: Store the maple cream cheese dip in its own airtight container in the fridge. Give it a quick stir before serving again.
Reheating
- Air fryer: Heat in the air fryer at 300°F for 2–3 minutes to restore crispiness.
- Microwave: For a softer texture, microwave for 10–15 seconds.
- Oven: Reheat at 325°F for about 5 minutes if you’re warming up a larger batch.
- Warm the icing: If the cream cheese dip has firmed up too much in the fridge, warm it in the microwave for 5–10 seconds for easy dipping.

Variations and Fun Twists
- Caramel Drizzle: Drizzle warm caramel sauce over the finished bites instead of dipping in cream cheese frosting. Or do both!
- Pumpkin Spice: Mix pumpkin pie spice into the cinnamon sugar and add a pinch to the frosting too.
- Cinnamon Roll Skewers: Thread a few bites onto wooden skewers and drizzle with icing for a cute party treat.
- Cinnamon Roll Nachos: Arrange the bites on a platter and top with cream cheese drizzle, chocolate chips, and sprinkles.
