Oreo Cheesecake Dip

Recipe Tips

  • You can use either regular or light cream cheese in this recipe, although the dip will be softer and less rich if you opt for light ingredients.
  • Soften the cream cheese fully: Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature before mixing to avoid lumps.
  • Chill before serving (if you have time): Even 30 minutes in the refrigerator helps the flavors meld and gives the dip a firmer texture.
  • Double it for a crowd: When I make this dip, I almost always double the recipe–especially if I’m entertaining or taking it to a potluck. This stuff disappears quickly!
  • My favorite way to enjoy this creamy dip is with fresh strawberries. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and tart. But sturdy cookies like shortbread are also wonderful as dippers.

Storing Leftovers

  • Refrigerate: Transfer the dip to an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up 5 days.
  • Give it a stir before serving again – The dip may firm up or separate slightly as it sits. Just stir it well to bring back the creamy texture.
  • Avoid freezing: The cream cheese may become grainy and change the texture of the dip.
  • Keep dippers separate – For best results, store any leftover dippers separately so they don’t get soggy.

Variations and Fun Twists

  • Change up the Oreos: You can make this dip with almost any flavor of Oreo cookies. Use seasonal Oreos to match the dip to any holiday or occasion.
  • Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Ball: Chill the mixture until firm, then shape it into a ball and roll it in crushed Oreos.
  • Chocolate Lover’s: Mix in mini chocolate chips and swirl of chocolate sauce for extra chocolaty goodness.
  • Berry Cheesecake Twist – Gently fold in a few chopped strawberries or raspberries for a fruity twist.
