Recipe Tips
- Add the cinnamon sticks early! The longer they sit in the punch the more warm and spicy it will be.
- Use chilled ingredients: Make sure the apple cider, orange juice concentrate, and ginger ale are well chilled so the punch is cold and doesn’t need a lot of ice, which can dilute the flavor.
- Adjust the sweetness: For a lower sugar version, replace some of the ginger ale with sparkling water.
- Make it ahead: Combine and refrigerate the cider and orange juice concentrate a few hours in advance, then add the ginger ale right before serving so it stays fizzy.
Storage and Freezing
- Storing Leftovers: Transfer any leftover punch to a covered pitcher or airtight container and refrigerate within 2 hours of serving. Take out the fruit slices and cinnamon sticks before storing to prevent the punch from becoming bitter or overly spiced. Use within 2-3 days. The ginger ale will lose fizz over time, but it will still taste good.
- Freezing Tips: Store in a sealed container or freezer bag, leaving room for expansion. For best results, freeze only the apple cider and orange juice mixture. Add fresh ginger ale when you’re ready to serve again. The frozen punch base will last up to 2 months in the freezer.

Variations and Fun Twists
- Cranberry Twist: Add a splash of cranberry juice and toss in fresh cranberries for garnish.
- Caramel Apple Punch: Stir in a few tablespoons of caramel sauce for a sweet fall treat.
- Spiced-Up Version: Add whole cloves, star anise, or nutmeg along with the cinnamon sticks for a stronger mulled cider flavor.
