Trader Joe's Charcuterie Board

Your One-Stop Shop for All Things Charcuterie

My local Trader Joe’s isn’t super close, so as much as I love it, I don’t go often. Unless I’m shopping for charcuterie board ingredients! I know they’ll have everything I need, including seasonal selections, fresh produce and plenty of options for cheese, dips and spreads.

  • Affordable Specialty Cheeses: They stock a wide variety of cheeses—everything from classic cheddar to brie, manchego, truffle cheese, and seasonal limited editions. I love that they’re high-quality but much less expensive than what you’d find at most specialty shops.
  • Unique Meat Selections: Their selection of cured meats, like prosciutto, soppressata, salami, and pepperoni, is both traditional and adventurous. Plus, they often carry fun seasonal or regional items that make your board feel special without a lot of effort.
  • Creative Crackers: They have a great selection of unique crackers and carbs—fig and olive crisps, rosemary raisin crackers, multigrain pita bites and my charcuterie board favorite–cheddar cheese sticks. These add texture and flavor to your spread, and they look gorgeous on the board.
  • Sweet & Savory Accents: Trader Joe’s makes it easy to round out your charcuterie board with honey, fig butter, fruit spreads, candied nuts, and dried fruit. They also have chocolate-covered almonds or seasonal jams that make your board extra special.

After you preview the recipe card, be sure to look below for ingredient substitutions, recipe and storage tips, and suggestions for pairings and tasty variations!

Pro Tips and Tricks

  • If you’ve never made a charcuterie board before, or need a refresher, but sure to check out my “How to Build a Charcuterie Board” post before getting started.
  • The “recipe” is just a guide using my favorite charcuterie ingredients from Trader Joe’s. Feel free to swap out varieties of cheese, nuts, crackers, meat, jams, etc. to suit your tastes. Use as few or as many of the ingredients needed to make a board that’s the perfect size for your occasion. I always like having extra handy to refill the board as things get eaten.
  • Variety packs for the win! The Italian Dry Salami & Prosciutto combo packs and the pre-sliced cheese party trays are affordable and instantly give you variety without overbuying.
  • Include Seasonal Selections: Trader Joe’s always rotates in unique limited-time cheeses—perfect for making your board feel special. Include seasonal fruit like grapes, figs, and dried cranberries and candied oranges in the winter.
  • Balance salty with sweet: Dried apricots, candied pecans, or chocolate-covered almonds are a great contrast to all of the savory offerings.

Storing Leftovers

  • Cheese: Wrap opened cheeses in parchment paper or wax paper (not plastic wrap—it traps moisture) and place a resealable bag or airtight container in the refrigerator. Don’t use plastic wrap, as it can trap moisture. Soft cheeses should last 3–5 days once opened. Hard cheeses can last up to 2 weeks.
  • Meat: Store opened meats like prosciutto and salami in a sealed container or tightly wrapped in plastic wrap and use within 3-5 days.
  • Fruits and vegetables: place in breathable containers in the refrigerator and eat within 2–3 days.
  • Pickles and olives: Just return them to their jars—they will keep in the refrigerator for several weeks.
  • Crackers and bread: Store in resealable bags or in airtight containers at room temperature for 2-3 days.

Fun Ways to Use Charcuterie Board Leftovers

  • Gourmet Grilled Cheese: Use leftover cheese to make fancy grilled sandwiches. Add a swipe of fig butter or jam inside for a sweet-savory twist. Cut into strips for dippable bites.
  • Meat Roll-Ups: Wrap prosciutto or salami around breadsticks, apple slices, or even a wedge of cheese for quick finger foods.
  • Snack Jars: Layer leftover crackers, nuts, dried fruit, and cheese cubes into little mason jars for grab-and-go snacks.
